Explain Candle Making Process
The candle making process begins with selecting your aromatic essential oils and wax type, such as paraffin, beeswax, or soy. As each wax has different melting points and application attributes, these will be important to consider when selecting the type of wax you want to use. Next, you will need to prepare your work area by setting up a double boiler for melting the wax, positioning candle wick in jar or molder and readying a thermometer to ensure the proper temperature when adding fragrance oil. Once everything is set up it’s time to weigh out the correct amount of wax then begin melting it in a double boiler on medium heat stirring occasionally. It’s important to not overheat the wax as this can affect its performance. The temperature you are looking to reach is 180-200 F degrees.
When your desired temperature is reached you can incorporate fragrances into your melted wax. When adding fragrance oil, make sure your liquid isn’t too hot as this can break down the oil base allowing it to separate from the wax causing an uneven distribution of scent throughout your candle. Maintaining the proper temperature when adding fragrances will also guarantee that number one selling point of any candle; its aroma! Once that’s done let your now scented melted wax cool enough for the dipping process if using pre-assembled wicks or ladle your mix into jars or molds if inserting wicks after. Watching video demonstrations at this step is recommended as pouring techniques differ between types of containers used and can be very helpful for getting just the right consistency needed for great-looking handcrafted candles.
Once poured let cool and harden before trimming off excess wick sticking above container lid (if applicable) then light and enjoy!

Share Candle Making Tips
When it comes to properly caring for, lighting, and storing candles, there are a few important tips to keep in mind. Start with only purchasing high-quality candles for the best experience. Be sure to always trim the wick of your candle each time you light it! This reduces soot build up and keeps your flame bright. When you first use your candle, make sure you light it long enough so that the wax near the edge starts to melt and form a full pool. Try not to let any drafts or air currents disturb the flame while burning. Always be mindful of minimum burn times to prevent tunneling or having an uneven burn, which can lead to smoke and residue on the glass votive. After each use, be sure to safely extinguish all flames, never leaving them unattended! Never move a lit candle—it can cause rapid stress cracking on the surface of glass containers or out of control burning times. Once you’re finished using your candle, store it away with other candles in a cool dry place and out of direct sunlight—extended exposure may weaken your wax and shorten its lifespan. With proper care and storage protocols, any candle will provide lasting enjoyment!
