Candle Making Fragrance Oi

With all the popularity of scented candles and decor candles, you may have found yourself wondering “How do they make candles?” Making homemade candles is a fun and relaxing activity where you can express your creativity!

We have created this how-to guide to help you get started making candles.

### Step 1: Collect Your Supplies

The supplies for candle making are inexpensive and can be picked up from your local craft store. Here is a list of what you will need:

* Wax

* Melting pot

* Wick

* Wick tabs

* Candle fragrance (optinal)

* Square molds

* Timer

### Step 2: Prepare Your Wick

Cut your wick to the desired length, then attach the tab to the end of the wick. Place the tab onto the bottom of the container you’ll be using as a mold.

Use the bobby pin to make sure the wick tab is secure and that the wick is in the center of the mold.

### Step 3: Melt the Wax

Depending on the type of wax you are using, the melting temperature will vary.

* **Soy wax**: melt at approximately 120 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit

* **Paraffin wax**: melt at approximately 145 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit

Using your melting pot, heat the wax slowly and gently until fully melted. To speed up the cooling process, you can place the melting pot in a pot of cold water.

### Step 4: Add Fragrance

When the wax has reached the desired temperature, you can add the fragrance that you’ve chosen. For every pound of wax, you should add one teaspoon of fragrance. Stir the mixture constantly while adding the fragrance to ensure it is evenly dispersed.

### Step 5: Pour the Wax into the Mold

Once the wax and fragrance are mixed together, slowly and gently pour the wax into the mold. Fill the mold to the top, then set it aside and let the wax cool and harden.

### Step 6: Remove the Candle

When the wax has cooled and hardened, gently slide your fingers along the edges to separate the wax from the sides of the mold. Then, carefully turn the mold over and tap it on a flat surface to release the candle.

### Step 7: Trim the Wick

Last but not least, trim the wick down to about ¼ inch, so that it won’t melt too quickly when the candle is lit.

And that’s it! You have successfully created your own homemade candle. Whether you make scented candles or decorative candles, candle making can be a great way to express your creativity. Enjoy!
